Cruise for Cancer 2012

Posted 27th June 2012   |    By Adam McPeake   |   2,297 views

Following on from the success of last year's cruise, local Northern Irish website Belfast Car Scene ( BCS ) with help from Kevin Clarke took it upon them selves to bring back Cruise for Cancer for 2012.

The goal of the cruise is simple, to make as much money as possible for the designated charities, which this year where Northern Ireland Cancer fund for children and CLIC Sargent. Sunday just passed ( 24th June 2012 ), saw the Sainsbury's carpark in Carrickfergus fill up from 8am until 10am when the convey of 400 plus cars set off on the same route as last year's cruise.

Crusing through Carrickfergus, Larne, Glenarm, Cushendall, Ballycastle and Bushmills until finally reaching the end point in Portrush. Along the journey, the Causeway coastal route made for amazing views of the Irish Sea, and the country side.

Upon reaching the final destination, everyone parked up in the Landsdown carpark, where Sye from BCS drew the raffle prizes and officially ended another year of Cruise for Cancer.

We've been told the total raised so far is over £3200, and the donations are still coming in. Amazing job to the organisers and for everyone who turned up. We'd be extremely happy to sponsor the event again for when it returns in 2013.
