Ian Agnew's VW Polo

Ian has had his 9N3 for 18 months now, over that time he's been spending a lot of hard work on bringing his 1.2 Polo up to the state it is at now. He even managed to grab runner up in the new polo class at Edition 38 over in Northampton this year, nice!

He's kept the standard body work, expect for the usual debadging and wiper removal. Instead of bodywork modifications he's focused on getting the car sitting right. To do this, he's installed a Rayvern Airbag kit using Firestone Bags and Avo struts. Along with the air ride, he's fitted a front strut brace and driver side chassis notch.

With wheels he's went for OZ Fittipaldi's with 16x7.5 on the front and 16x8.0 in the rear with -1.5 degrees camber. Ian has chose polished dishes, matt black centres, and gold bolts. He's fitted custom 15mm Adaptec adapters to set it off perfectly and 195 / 40 / 16 Toyo T1-R Proxies tyres all round.

Inside Ian has wrapped his headliner and A B C pillars all in black suede, with satin black grab handles and light surround. Then, like our last feature, Ian has removed his rear seats and replaced them with a false floor which hold two three gallon air tanks which have been sprayed Metallic Regency Red. He's also fitted some bass in there, with a single 10" Hertz Hi energy HX250D sub being powered by a Vibe Slick A4 amp.

Up front he's fitted switches for the airbags inside a cigar box and a Kenwood DNX-5420BT head unit.

Being a part of NI Euro, Ian lives by their moto "The lower class". So he's had it made up into a huge sticker for his front window from our friends over at Blackwater Graphics.

Like most modified car owners Ian isn't satisfied yet, and plans to fit new seats, re trim the inside with purple leather, smooth his front bumper and tidy a few things up before the new show season starts.

This is an example that not everyone needs a load of money or a high spec car to do something awesome. Nice work Ian! We look forward to seeing it once it's finished.

Ian would like to thank everyone at NI-Euro.co.uk, especially Matthew Jackson and Mike Patton, for all their help and advice, fitting and doing everything, Ray at Rayvern for the Air kit, and his advice, Jordan Whatmore for the wheels, Scott Hanna for the location, and his GTI in the background, Blackwater graphics for the script across the window and anyone that's helped that he's forgot.
